Aruba Red releases 2 remixes for 'Butterfly'

The original ‘Butterfly’ is drenched with Aruba’s inimitable, soulful and serene style, building up to an uplifting crescendo of beats and ecstatic vibes. Aruba Red said “I’m so excited to share these two remixes of ‘Butterfly’, both are incredible re-imaginings of the original track, produced by Aeroplane Dope and Abyss Bay, who are doing great things on the electronic music scene. The original song represents love, self-love, investing in yourself and others. My hope is that these ‘Butterfly’ remixes will evoke joy and celebrate the times when we were able to rave together. Those days will come again!”
The Abyss Bay remix is a sonic deconstruction of the original into a slick, hypnotic Techno version.
The Aeroplane Dope remix follows up in a Drum n Bass style, with killer bass licks and dancehall undertones.

Blue- Out Now

Monday 20th January 2020
On Blue, Aruba Red said,
'A song to banish the blues. I'm sending so much love to everyone out there struggling... winter, depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, ptsd, feeling lonely, lost, full of doubt... I get it. This is my little offering as an attempt to demonstrate that it's ok to feel like this, it's ok to feel blue but please, can we use this blue for painting? Can we use our tears for watering? I'm singing about healing and transformation, wearing the dress I got married in, dyed blue. This represents in the physical, the letting go of a long and emotionally painful journey for me. 2020 is going to fully be about releasing the pain of the past and making space for new blessings.'

Violet Electric- Out Now

On Violet Electric, Aruba Red said,

'My new year's day offering to you... Violet Electric, the final visual to drop from my Holy Waters EP. I wanted to release this energy as we enter this new decade, full of magic and hope and with the statement that I am coming home! Setting my intentions for this new era... This is a song, in part, declaring my gratitude to the practice of Kemetic yoga as instrumental to my healing process. The song documents me learning how to control my own thoughts, rather than living in a very reactionary state. It’s about accepting that we are the creators of our own experience, that we can belong to ourselves, that we can save ourselves, that divinity lives within us all and that we only have to learn how to tap into that power and love and to hold ourselves responsible.'

Accompanied by Nathan Flutebox Lee (Asian Dub Foundation, Prodigy, Foreign Beggars) and Renell Shaw (Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Anne-Marie), Aruba Red added her own edge, rich vocals and signature vibrato to the original in homage. But one line shines a reassuring light, ‘I’m sure someone may answer my call, and this bitter earth may not be so bitter after all’. To me, that one line represents connection, connection with others, promise for the future, urging us to answer our own call, be our own hero, to never lose hope…”
